There’s a fly in my soup There’s a car in my house
I had one of my best posts ready for tonight. It was one of those that starts off like a tearjerker and ends with belly laughter. But something came up..or should I say through..

While Casper and I tended to his acute diarrhea, Drama Diva and a friend played upstairs. Hubby was shining golf clubs or something when KABAMMO. At first I thought the girls had dumped over a bed upstairs or something, but after they ran downstairs to ask what happened, my bedroom caught my eye.
The bed was at the door, and sheetrock crunched over where we once slept.

Granted, this is absolutely nothing compared to what our neighbors in Louisiana are experiencing, but it doesn’t happen every day, either.
After hitting our house, the driver extricated herself from the airbag by climbing out of the window. She then ran away. The car was still in gear, radio playing some rap song, and two baby carseats sat in the backseat, thankfully empty.
Ten minutes and two cop cars later, they found her hiding at her sister’s house.
OF COURSE she has no insurance.
OF COURSE she was drinking (they found a cold 40 ounce beer half finished in the front seat).
OF COURSE she had to sit in the backseat of the cop car, which my children took every opportunity to point at and stare at, begging for a better view.
The sister, a heavy set white woman, brought P. Diddy and his bodyguards to inspect the damage.
Here’s a little help from Helouise, don’t blame a homeowner when their house gets in the way of a drunk driver. Bonus Tip: Don’t smart off the woman of said house.
P. Diddy made some comment to me, an enraged homeowner/mother, which is the equivalent of pouring gas on a bonfire. Good thing the cops were there, and my children were watching. I ain’t skeered. As we all know, I have watched Matrix AND Lara Croft, so I’m just sayin’. Maybe it’s just me, but a home versus a car? Thinking the DRIVER is at total fault, don’t you?
The kids enjoyed the part where they cuffed the driver and towed the car out of the house.
Mom and Dad are less enthusiastic.

All things equal, I’ll take this over Katrina any day.
Bless the victims, the rescue workers, and all that are surviving that terrible tragedy.
