The New John Wayne

johnMcClane.jpg Ladies and gentlemen, meet a real American hero both on and off the screen, Mr. Bruce Willis. What was rumored has now been established as fact - he has offered a ransom for the capture of Zawahiri, bin Laden, or al-Zarqawi. He's not one of the Hollywood elites standing up for Stanley "Tookie" Williams - that's the easy path for publicity. This is an everyman's man that lives his life like we all do with one exception - we don't have cameras following us 24/7. So he married and divorced Demi - who wouldn't? Instead of hiding behind a publicist or agent's advice to stay out of politics, Mr. Willis isn't afraid for his opinions be known no matter what the liberal media may think. It doesn't matter if his movies aren't on your top ten, or if you like his choice of music, it's about his belief in a free, secure America.
Mr. Willis, keep up the good work. John Wayne is smiling right now at you.

As usual, I don't have anything to add but I really have to second your view of this man. I've no doubt we see the real Mr. Willis and his love for this country, money or no. He is a powerful speaker and example. I wish him well. There will be critics possibly to your post, that's fine, I've seen enough of him to know he is genuine and a great man.

This is the first I've heard of this. I'm impressed. Good for Bruce Willis -- and I hope he gets to write that check.

I'm impressed. A celebrity putting his money where his mouth is. But then I've always liked Bruce and considered him to be a man of action, not just an action hero movie star.

I have liked him ever since "Moonlighting".

You need to check out Michael's ( Michael You ) site. One of his pictures has been nominated for Time Magazines Picture of the year - you'll have no problem voting for it; if you haven't already. ;-)

I know I have enjoyed reading Michael Yon. I'll say the picture I think it is, without any prior knowledge. It would be the picture of a Major carrying the little Iraqi girl injured in a car bomb, she was wrapped in a blanket and he had his head down covering her, as if he was trying to comfort her with words. There was blood all over the blanket. She died, the story said.
That picture affected me more than any other this year.

Bruce Willis, thumbing his nose at the Spinelesswood establishment? That takes more guts than saying Merry Christmas in San Francisco ;)
